Museum for Gestaltung/Zurich/Basel School of Design

From someone  that has never truly experienced the authenticity and cultural lifestyle of a country overseas, (besides one-day stops in few places from a cruise), to say that I am excited for this trip is an understatement.  Austria, Switzerland, and Germany are some of the most beautiful places in the world; rich in culture and diversity, these countries have made a name for themselves not only through their authenticity, but the artistic aspect as well. From the information provided in today's class, I can not wait to experience the diverse art within the museums. Specifically speaking, the "Skulpturenpark" looks like a scene out of a fairy tale book. Therefor, this place will be one of my first destinations on my to-do list while abroad in Switzerland. In addition to my thrill of visiting the artistic aspects of Switzerland, I can not wait to experience life in Switzerland through my taste buds! Because of the fact that my pallet has never had the pleasure of tasting a meal made out of the United States (for more than a day), I am thrilled to experience the authentic taste of Switzerland.  "Rosti" ( hot cake that is made from grated potatoes then fried in hot butter) will be one of the first treats that I will indulge in, but only once or twice, unless I want to come back to the United states with an extra twenty pounds. I hope that on one of my free days, I get to experience outdoor activities (biking, hiking) that will allow me to truly capture the essential beauty of this marvelous country.
